Blocked, overflowing or running

Blocked and broken toilets

A blocked toilet cleared, an overflow stopped or a toilet that won't stop running fixed, usually inside the first hour.

If it's happening now

A toilet problem

Can it wait?Once you've done the steps above, this can wait a few hours if you'd rather. A daytime visit costs less.

  1. Don't flush again. If it's overflowing, lift the cistern lid and hold the float up, or turn the valve on the pipe into the cistern a quarter.
  2. For a blockage, try a plunger with the bowl half full: firm, steady pushes, not stabs. Never mix bleach with a drain cleaner.
  3. If it won't stop running, turn off the valve on the pipe into the cistern, or the stop tap.

If it's your only toilet, or sewage is coming up anywhere else, call now.

What it costs

  • Daytime£95
  • Evenings and weekends£135
  • Overnight and bank holidays£175

Unblocking a toilet: 30 minutes to an hour on site, parts at cost, VAT included.

Most toilet call-outs are done inside the first hour, so you pay the first hour only. A new valve or flush is added at cost.

What we fix

  • Toilets that are blocked or slow to empty
  • Cisterns that overflow or won't stop filling
  • A flush that's broken or won't stop running
  • A leak at the base of the pan

What's included

  • Clearing the blockage, by hand or with a drain machine
  • A new fill valve or flush, from the van
  • Checking the waste pipe beyond the toilet
  • Cleaning up after ourselves

How it goes

  1. Clear it

By hand first, then with a drain machine if it's further down.

  2. Fix what failed

A fill valve, a flush or a seal, from the van.

  3. Check the rest

We run water through the whole waste before we go.

Questions

Is it cheaper to wait until morning?

Yes, if you have another toilet. The daytime rate is lower, and a blocked toilet won't get worse overnight if nobody flushes it.
