Who we are
Wharfe EV Ltd, trading as Wharfe EV (registered in England and Wales) is responsible for the personal information you give us through this website.
Our address is Otley, West Yorkshire. You can reach us about your information at hello@wharfe-ev.example, or on 0113 496 0427.
What we collect, and why
When you ask us for a price, book a survey or send us an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the job you want doing and anything you write in your message, and any photographs you send us. We use them to reply to you, work out a price and arrange the work. We do this because you've asked us to, before any contract between us.
If you use the estimator, your answers go with your enquiry so you don't have to repeat them. The estimate is worked out from our price list.
If we do a job for you, we keep your address, the work, the visits, the prices you accept (with your name, the time and the browser you used), any extra work you agree, the payments we ask for and receive, messages between us, photographs of the work, and your certificates and invoices on a private page only you and we can open. We do this to carry out our contract with you and to keep the records the law requires.
We don't take card details on this website. If you pay by card, you do it on our payment provider's own secure page, and they handle your card under their own privacy notice.
If you're a landlord or letting agent, we keep your contact details, your properties' addresses, how we get in, and each property's reports, remedial work and invoices, on private pages you can share. We use your email to remind you before each property's next inspection is due; tell us if you'd rather we didn't.
For notifiable electrical work we are required by law to notify building control, usually through our registration scheme, which receives your address and the work done.
Who sees it
Only Wharfe EV, and where the law requires it building control and our registration scheme. We don't sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
This website runs on services that process information on our behalf and only on our instructions: Vercel (hosting and photo storage), Neon (our database) and Resend (the emails the site sends). Some of these may process information outside the UK; where they do, the safeguards UK law requires apply.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that doesn't go ahead: 12 months after we last heard from you, then it's deleted.
A job, its certificates and invoices: six years after the work, for tax and guarantee purposes. Certificates can matter for as long as the installation lasts, so we'll give you copies to keep.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it, or object to how we use it. Email or call us and we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn't follow you around the internet.
While you're using it, your browser remembers your estimate answers and choices for the visit so you don't have to type them twice (this is session storage, not a cookie). They're deleted when you close the tab.
The owner's admin uses one essential cookie to keep them signed in. It isn't set for visitors.
