How a grant works
- 1We check
With your price, we check each scheme's conditions against your home and your car.
- 2You apply, or we do
Renters, flat owners and on-street households apply online with our dated quote. For landlords we apply as your authorised installer; a workplace applies for a voucher.
- 3Approved, then fitted
Nothing is fitted until the grant is approved, so you never pay the full price by mistake.
- 4It comes off
We claim the grant and take it off your invoice. You pay the rest, and never wait for a refund.
Checked against the schemes' published rules. Schemes change; we check yours again before we fit.
Questions
Grants
I own my house and have a drive. Is there a grant?
Not any more. The grant for homeowners with a drive ended in April 2022. Renters, flat owners, landlords, homes with on-street parking and workplaces can still get one.
How does the grant get paid?
Once it's approved, we claim it as your authorised installer and take it off your invoice, so you never pay the full price and wait for a refund. Renters, flat owners and on-street households apply online first, with our dated quote; we tell you exactly what it asks for.
Do I need the car first?
For the renters' and flat owners' grant and the on-street grant, you need to own, lease or have ordered an electric car, or have a company car for six months or more. An order confirmation is enough.
Can I get a charger if I park on the street?
Often. Your highways authority has to allow a permanent cross-pavement channel and give you permission for it before anything is fitted; then the on-street grant helps with the charger. We'll tell you whether yours allows them.
