From photos to charging
How an installation works
Four photos, a fixed price, half a day's work and the paperwork done. Here's every step, and what we need from you.
How it works
From your photos to your first charge, usually inside two weeks.

01
Send four photos
Your fuse board, your meter, where the car parks and the route between. We fix the price in writing, usually the same day.

02
Or a free survey
For a long route, a shared car park or a supply we can't judge from photos: thirty minutes, at a time you choose.

03
Half a day's work
We agree the route with you before we drill. The power is off for under an hour.

04
Tested
Every installation is tested before we hand it over, and the readings go on your certificate.

05
Set up with you
We set up the app on your phone, choose your cheapest hours and check the car charges before we go.
The paperwork, done for you
Four pieces of paper follow every installation. We do all of them, and they're kept in your portal.
Your network operator
We tell the company that runs the local network about your charger, as the law requires. If they want a bigger main fuse, they fit it, normally free.
Building control
A charger needs a new circuit, which is notifiable. We register it through our scheme, and your certificate follows by post.
Your certificate
The Electrical Installation Certificate with every test result, emailed within five working days.
The grant, if there is one
Once your grant is approved, we make the installer's claim and it comes off your invoice.

Questions
Installation
How long does it take?
Half a day for most homes. A trench, a long route or a new board can make it a full day. The power is off for under an hour.
Do I need to be in?
For the start, so we can agree the route, and at the end, so we can set up the app with you and check your car charges. In between, no.
Do I need an earth rod?
Rarely. Every charger we fit has built-in open-PEN protection, so a separate earth electrode is normally unnecessary on a suitable supply, subject to survey. Some farm and rural supplies still need one, and your photo of the meter tells us.
Do I need planning permission?
Not for most homes. A listed building, or one in some conservation areas, may need it. We check before we fit.
What if my main fuse is only 60 amps?
The charger shares the supply with your house and turns itself down when the house is busy. If your network operator wants a bigger fuse, they normally fit it free.
