Questions, answered.
Everything about how the managed plans, the free mockup, billing and ownership work. Still unsure? Get a free mockup or get in touch.
How can it be that affordable?+
Because I use a proven website framework built specifically for trades, then tailor the design, copy, services and photos around your business, so you get an agency-quality site without paying agency day rates. The monthly plan spreads the cost and covers hosting, updates and support.
Do I really get a free mockup?+
Yes. I'll rebuild your homepage and send it over before you commit to anything. If you love it, we go ahead. If not, no hard feelings and no cost.
What's the difference between the plans?+
Starter (£99/mo or £950 upfront) is a tidy 1–3 page site for a solid online presence. Pro (£149/mo or £1,430 upfront) is my main plan, a fuller site with gallery, reviews, local SEO and priority updates. Performance (£249/mo or £2,390 upfront) adds your own branded quote tool and the full-power site editor, colours, branding and new sections, on top of ongoing SEO and content: monthly health checks, a new page each month, ongoing local SEO improvements and a performance summary. Every plan includes a site editor so you can update your own text and photos; Performance just unlocks the full version. After the first 12 months, every plan drops to a low maintenance fee, £49, £79 or £99 a month.
Is there really no upfront cost?+
On the monthly plan, yes, there's no fee to design or build your site, and nothing to pay during the mockup or build. The build cost is spread across your monthly plan over the 12-month term. If you'd rather, you can choose to pay for the year upfront and save 20%, that's entirely optional. Either way, your first payment is only taken once the site is approved or ready to go live.
Can I pay upfront instead of monthly?+
Yes. Pay for the whole first year upfront and save 20%, £950 Starter, £1,430 Pro or £2,390 Performance, with no VAT and no monthly payments for the first 12 months. After that it's the same low maintenance fee as everyone else (£49, £79 or £99 a month). Or stick with simple monthly payments and pay nothing upfront, your call, and you can decide at checkout.
What if I want changes later?+
Updates are included every month: 30 minutes on Starter, an hour on Pro, and a whole new page each month on Performance. New photos, prices, services or opening hours, just message me. Bigger additions are quoted up front so there are no surprises.
Will it actually get me jobs?+
A fast, clear site with strong photos, reviews and an obvious quote button turns more visitors into enquiries. That's the entire point. It's built to convert, not just to look nice.
What happens after the 12 months?+
Your plan continues on a rolling monthly basis at a reduced maintenance fee, £49 on Starter, £79 on Pro, £99 on Performance, which keeps your site live, hosted, updated and supported. Carry on, or cancel any time with 30 days' notice. Nothing locks you into another fixed term, whether you paid monthly or upfront.
What do I need to provide?+
Your logo (if you have one), a few photos of your work, and a quick list of your services and areas. I write or polish the rest. One short form and we're off.
What are the quote tool and site editor?+
The site editor is included on every plan, change your text, photos, prices, services and reviews yourself and it goes live the instant you save. Starter and Pro get the everyday editor; Performance unlocks the full version (brand colours, new sections and more). The quote tool is part of Performance: put together a professional, branded quote, your logo, line items, VAT if you need it, then download it as a PDF or send it to the customer by email and text, and see when they've viewed or accepted it. Prefer me to handle changes? Just message me and I'll sort it.
Why is there a 12-month term?+
Because there's no upfront build fee on the monthly plan. The cost of building your site is recovered through the monthly plan across the first 12 months, so the minimum term covers that build. After 12 months it's rolling monthly at a reduced maintenance fee (£49/£79/£99). Prefer to pay it all at once? Paying upfront covers the same 12 months at a 20% discount.
What happens if I cancel early?+
On the monthly plan, ending early during the 12-month term may mean paying a Build Recovery Amount, the unpaid portion of the build cost the monthly plan was spreading. It's set out transparently in your Order Summary and isn't a penalty. If you paid for the year upfront, there's no Build Recovery Amount, the build's already paid. After 12 months you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. Consumers keep their statutory cancellation rights.
Do I own my website?+
You own all your content: text, images, logo and photos. The site is built on our reusable framework and licensed components, which stay ours unless we expressly agree in writing to assign specific bespoke code to you. You're licensed to use the website for your business while your plan is active.
Do I own my domain?+
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name and you control it. If I set it up for you, it's still yours.
Is hosting included?+
Yes, hosting is included in every monthly plan, kept running, secure and updated. Premium third-party extras like paid plugins or business email inboxes aren't included unless stated.
Is VAT charged?+
No VAT is charged. The price you see is the total you pay.
Can consumers buy, not just businesses?+
The plans are designed for businesses, but if you're a private individual you can still order. You'll have the consumer protections in our Terms and Cancellation & Refund Policy, including a 14-day cancellation period.
When does billing start?+
When your finished site is approved or is ready to go live. If it's ready but launch is held up because I'm waiting on your content, approvals or access, billing can start from when I tell you it's ready. Nothing is taken while it's being built.
What if I delay sending content?+
No problem short-term. But if the project is held up waiting on your content, photos, approvals or logins, I may pause it and, once everything possible is done without the missing items, treat the site as ready to launch, at which point billing can begin.
Can I move the website elsewhere?+
After the term, once everything's paid, I'll help you leave: I'll export your content and, where technically possible, hand over the site files, excluding our reusable framework and components licensed only to us. Some managed/hosted elements may not transfer. It's all set out in the Terms.
Is there a minimum term?+
Every plan has a 12-month minimum, which covers building your site (whether you pay monthly with no upfront fee, or pay for the year upfront at a 20% discount). After 12 months your plan continues monthly at a reduced maintenance fee (£49/£79/£99), and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel with 30 days' notice. You always own your domain, logo, photos and content.
